Grateful in Lake Charles

I was invited to photograph a ‘donation day’ with the United Way of Southwest Louisiana in Lake Charles recently and got to see first hand the community battered by two hurricanes. Families there are still struggling to repair homes and businesses and everyone had a story about the 190 mph winds. All day long, there was a steady stream of cars filled with people thankful for the helping hand of others. This adorable little girl caught my eye and I finished the day grateful that so many families received food and supplies to help with their Thanksgiving. I wish for each of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
